Meenakshi Amman Temple darshan
Pray to Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar. See the tall gopurams, the Hall of Thousand Pillars and the Golden Lotus Tank. Mobile phones are not allowed inside, so leave them in the vehicle or a cloakroom; your driver will point you to one.

Breakfast and drive to Rameshwaram
About 170 km, 3.5 to 4 hours, via Paramakudi and Ramanathapuram, with a lunch stop on the way. You cross the sea bridge onto Rameshwaram island.

Kothandaramaswamy Temple and Dhanushkodi
Drive out along the coast to the Kothandaramaswamy Temple, then on to Dhanushkodi, the ruined town at the island's eastern tip where Ram Setu begins. Return before dusk; access to the far end depends on local timings and sea conditions.

Ramanathaswamy Temple evening darshan
Visit the temple after dark, when its long pillared corridors are lit. Dinner and overnight stay in Rameshwaram.

Holy bath at Agni Theertham and the 22 theerthams
Start early, when the queues are shortest. Pilgrims bathe at Agni Theertham on the shore and at the wells inside the Ramanathaswamy Temple, then go for darshan of Lord Ramanathaswamy and Goddess Parvathavardhini. Carry a dry change of clothes.

Breakfast, Ramar Padam and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial
Short stops at Gandhamadhana Parvatham (Ramar Padam), where Lord Rama's footprints are worshipped, and at the Kalam Memorial in Pei Karumbu.

Check-out and drive to Kanyakumari
About 310 km, 6 to 6.5 hours, with a lunch stop. Optional A short stop at the seashore Tiruchendur Murugan Temple, one of the Six Abodes of Lord Murugan, if timing allows.

Check in, then walk to the shore to watch the sunset where the Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean meet. Dinner and overnight stay in Kanyakumari.

Worship the virgin goddess at India's southern tip. Follow the temple dress code and expect shorter queues in the early morning.

Breakfast, Vivekananda Rock and Thiruvalluvar Statue
Take the ferry to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the 133-foot Thiruvalluvar Statue. Ferry tickets are bought on the day; waiting time is longer at weekends and the ferry can pause in rough seas.

Suchindram Thanumalayan Temple
Just 12 km away, this temple honours Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma as a single deity. It is known for its musical pillars and a tall Hanuman statue. Arrive before the midday closing.

Lunch and drive to Madurai
About 250 km, 5 to 5.5 hours, via Tirunelveli. Optional Evening darshan at Thirupparankundram Murugan Temple on the outskirts of Madurai, if you are running on time.

Tour ends at the Madurai airport, railway station or your hotel. Book onward trains or flights after 8:30 PM to leave a safe buffer for traffic.

Before you travel
- Wear modest, traditional clothes. Shorts and sleeveless tops are not allowed inside most temples.
- Carry a spare set of clothes for the theerthams at Rameshwaram, and a towel.
- Leave phones and bags in the vehicle where the temple bans them. Meenakshi Amman Temple does not allow phones inside.
- Tell us about senior citizens or anyone who finds long queues hard. We can plan battery-car and wheelchair help where the temple offers it.
